discogsThere are several artists named 'Equals', 1) 'Equals' are James Low and Ade Omotayo, based in London. Ade lent his vocals in the past to Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson, Basement Jaxx, Kindness and Quincy Jones, to name a few. James took a different route, arriving at electronic music through collaborations with Ruckspin - the Leeds based producer for Submotion Orchestra, as well as being part of Author on legendary dubstep label Tectonic. Their debut EP Single Soul was released on UK label Senseless Records in Spring 2014. It also includes Pyre, Trap and the Pyre (Xxxy Remix). Their follow-up single, Black On Gold was released in February 2015. https://twitter.com/theequals 2) 'Equals' are an instrumental, post-rock band from San Marcos, Austin, and Houston, Texas. The members of Equals - bassist Alex Guzman; drummer Matt Toman; keyboardist Logan Wexler; and guitarists Simon McDonald and Dylan Storey - met in high school and college and began playing in several different projects. After a year of writing and gigging around Central Texas, they were able to hone their sound and write a collection of songs that would become their self-titled debut EP. The album was recorded by the band themselves in various homes and studios with Alex Bhore (This Will Destroy You) mixing and acclaimed mastering engineer Alan Douches (Animal Collective, Sufjan Stevens) at the helm. Their 5 song, self-titled EP is available for free at http://equals.bandcamp.com/
