Kojak, or Kool KoJAK, is a primary alias of the American-Brazilian producer, songwriter, composer, and visual artist Allan P. Grigg (b. 31 July 1972, Worcester, Massachusetts). His moniker is often stylized with triple "O," as Koool Kojak, as well as KoOoLkOjAk, Ko0olk0jAk, and other variations. Grigg started as a hip-hop "bedroom" producer in his early teens, co-founding the IYF Productions cassette label with the Average White Boys crew circa 1984. He came to commercial breakthrough success in 2001 after co-writing and co-producing Supla's O Charada Brasileiro album; Kojak also served as a musical director for Supla's live show at the third Rock In Rio festival the same year. After joining Dr. Luke's production team at Prescription Songs in 2009, Kojak co-wrote and co-produced many high-ranking pop hits, such as Flo Rida's Right Round featuring Ke$ha, Kelly Clarkson's My Life Would Suck Without You, one of Ke$ha's charting hits, Blow, in 2011, and Va Va Voom (2012) by Nicki Minaj. More recently, Kool Kojak co-wrote and co-produced Doja Cat's "Cyber Sex," the opening track and 4th single from her second album Hot Pink (2019) on RCA/Kemosabe Records. Circa 2018, Kojak co-founded an independent label and media production studio, TRIZM, with Jenna Adler, Doja's CAA booking agent. Kojak wrote and produced for many other prominent artists and bands, including Matisyahu, DMX, N.A.S.A., Warren G, Waka Flocka Flame, Charli XCX, Travis Barker, Sean Paul, Yelle, Kim Petras, Britney Spears, One Direction, Icona Pop, Ursula 1000, actors and comedians like Chelsea Peretti, Andy Milonakis, and Ed Helms, Dirt Nasty, Lordz Of Brooklyn, and Phil Greiss. Most of his productions are published via the KojakTrax private imprint.
