messages from the stars (astro mix)
British studio project group, masterminded by Richard A. Hewson who had started out as arranger, conductor, and multi-instrumentalist in the late 1960s. In 1976 Hewson decided to produce, write, and play on his own records under the name RAH Band, named after his initials. The following year, the instrumental The Crunch (1977) on label Good Earth climbed into the UK Top 10. Three years later Falcon (1980) hit the Top 40 and started a long string of dance hits for the band. Another track, Clouds Across The Moon (1985), with vocals by his wife Liz Hewson, gave him a second Top 10 single in the UK. Over the years the band have chalked up seven UK hits and have had records on a myriad of labels including DJM Records, KR, TMT Records, S.O.U.N.D. Recordings, RCA, Supreme Records, et al.

The RAH Band was a fictitious studio based group (fictitious in that it was no group, it contained only him); RAH being the initials for Richard Anthony Hewson. In 1977 Hewson wrote an instrumental called "The Crunch", which was a huge success and climbed to number 6 in the UK Singles Chart. Hewson played all the musical instruments himself. The second hit single for the RAH Band was in 1985, when the soul ballad "Clouds Across the Moon", also reached number 6 in the UK Chart. This single was recorded in conjunction with his wife. The RAH Band also released five records during the past 30 years. In July 2007 Hewson released a remixed "Clouds Across The Moon '07" now featuring vocalist Emma Charles.
