Idris Goodwin is a rapper. He's also an NEA award-winning writer, HBO Def Poet, and teacher who's earned praise for bringing hip hop into new arenas. Idris' 2005 self-titled solo debut (Naivete Records) was called "an interesting combination of spoken word, rap, old school aesthetics and deep content." Idris' writing has been published in numerous literary journals. He teaches and lectures at institutions across the country.
