Joseph Williams Jr. (born June 22, 1965), known professionally as Just-Ice, is an American rapper from New York City. He emerged in the mid-1980s and is known for his contributions to the early development of hardcore and gangsta rap. In 1986, Williams was charged with the murder of Ludlaw DeSouza, a drug dealer, but was later proven innocent. His third studio album, "The Desolate One," released in 1989, experienced moderate success in the United Kingdom, reaching number 16 on the UK Independent Chart. Originally from the Fort Greene neighborhood in Brooklyn, Williams moved to the Castle Hill section of the Bronx during his early teenage years. He continues to reside in the Bronx, which he regards as his hometown. In the 1990s, during the peak of the band Sublime's popularity, frontman Bradley Nowell brought a copy of Just-Ice's album "The Desolate One" to the California-based radio station KROQ 106.7 FM. Nowell praised the record, reportedly stating, "You can drop the needle anywhere on this record and I guarantee you, GOLD!" The station subsequently played the track "NA TOUCH DA JUST."
