British funk and jazz band, founded in Leeds, England in 1999. Two years prior, Eddie Roberts and Simon Allen (6) had already played in a band named The Mastersounds (2). They released one single in 1997, but plans to release an album were shelved. They reformed as The New Mastersounds, releasing their debut album in 2001.
