DJ MITSU THE BEATS (real name: 川村 光利/Mitsutoshi Kawamura) is a Japanese music producer and DJ. He serves as an executive producer for Cream Team Records. He is a member of the hip-hop group GAGLE; fellow member MC HUNGER is his younger brother. In 1994, captivated by a DJ he saw on television, he began DJing using two turntables costing 8,000 yen and a homemade mixer.
In 1996, he formed the hip-hop group GAGLE with his younger brother MC HUNGER and DJ Mu-R.
In 1997, following the release of the Akai MPC2000, he began producing music and has since spent his days quietly dedicated to the craft.
In 2003, he released his solo album *New Awakening* and actively collaborated with international artists.
In 2004, he was the only Japanese artist selected for the "Next 100" list by the Los Angeles-based magazine *URB*.
In 2009, he released his second album, *A WORD TO THE WISE*.
In 2010, he released his third album, *UNIVERSAL FORCE*.
On April 25, 2012, he released the beat album *Beat Installments*.
On May 29, 2013, he released his second beat album, *Beat Installments Vol. 2*.
